Best Foot Foward (Post # 2)

“Take a subject like Tanner Cobb. On the one hand, he stole. On the other, he helped his little brother read and count. Then again, he stole shoes in front of his little brother. But he brought the shoes back and offered to make up for what he’d done. My mind said, Don’t trust him. My instincts said, He might not be all bad. Inconsistencies are a royal pain; the older you get, the more they multiply.”(30)

Mrs. Gladstone finally decided to hire Tanner Cobb even though she was unsure if it was a good idea or not. As you can tell Jenna feels the same but at the same time she thinks Mrs. Gladstone is doing the right thing. On Tanner’s first day at the job they assign him in the back to move shoe boxes. A job that would take Jenna all day only took Tanner a few hours. Mrs. Gladstone, Jenna and Murray are all very impressed with Tanner and how hard of a worker he is. Later that day Mrs. Gladstone finds out that they have slowly been shutting down some of her stores in other cities. Mrs. Gladstone said there are only two things to do and that is retreat or advance. I think that Mrs. Gladstone and her employees Murray, Jenna, and Tanner are going to advance and do whatever it takes to save Gladstone Shoes.
